Warmed my heart – I knew I liked. Our new Pope

I heard this on the news this evening and thought of all of us that have loved our animals so much and then, lost them. I am not a good Catholic, for some ovious reasons over the years. But THIS got my attention and truly warmed my heart. I hope it does yours too.

Of course, I have always felt this way, and I think I share this thought, but alas, apparently Pope Francis does too. Here’s to the Rsinbow’s End

Oh that’s just lovely to read Linda. I knew Saint John Paul II had said that animals have souls and therefore go to heaven, but I hadn’t heard about Pope Francis’ comments.

John Paul called animals “our smaller brethren” – I love that.

Have to direct Joe to your comment. I’ll post a note on his forum entry. I think he would love to read that.

I read this too about the Pope’s message- I needed to hear it. I need to think it every day.
Such a tough week this one because it just seems like some days she is further from me.
All of us who have lost our dear loves are likely just trying to get through the holidays. The therapist said I should grieve but be careful about bad grief- the kind that causes the kind of sadness Sunny would not want.

Dearest Maura – I know you have been on a horrible journey with all this. You will get through this though, you will. Because Sunny’s life and the love she gave you will shine on forever, eternity. When you look up to the sky, dreary or bright, she’s there to pull you through the not-so-good days and there to shine with you on the beautiful, bright days. Always, your Sunny is there with you.

Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family. And for you especially, I wish you an open heart to heal and to feel the happiness that, I have no doubt at all, Sunny would want for you.
