- Pet Insurance Discount Plan
I wanted to share something that might help some of us here with all the expenses we are incurring with our pups dealing with this AIHA/IMHA. I found out about this discount program several months ago at the vet’s office from a lady that was checking out. She handed them the card and got a 25% discount. I didn’t do anything about it until today and glad I finally did.
I bought the one year plan for Sadie at $99.00. I then printed my “temporary card” and took it with me to the vet for Sadie’s full profile CBC this morning. The normal cost would have been $145.00 and with the discount, I paid $108.00. I even got the 25% discount on the Biohazard Handling Fee they ALWAYS charge. Nice.
There are no pre-existing conditions, so you will not be turned away. As a matter of fact, they do not even ask. Save 25% off your vet bill, right at the time of service. Any pet, any age and any condition. Here is the website if you’d like to check it out: http://www.petassure.com
I wish I had done this months ago, but my vet’s office just sold and I was not sure they’d carry the plan still. Turns out, they do. Yippee.
I think it is only good in the US and PR, but hopefully it will help someone else here too.
As always, love and hugs, Linda
Of course it is not available in Canada:( I have looked into pet insurance. After doing lots of calculating I figured I am better off to put some money away every month, into the poodles vet account. Our biggest vet expenses are titers and chiro treatments. Both are not covered by the basic insurance policies. But I would definitely go for the 25% off!
Best wishes,
Brigitte
I’m not sure about pre-existing conditions or age limitations but I must say our pet insurance company, PetPlan, has been nothing less than a dream come true. I only pay a 20% copay for Tilly’s vet visits because it’s with a specialist but her meds are 100% paid for. There is no way I could afford her medical care if I didn’t have insurance.
Bless you all and your precious pups!
Bingo can’t get sick any more. I’ve told him that and he says that’s fine.
I have pet insurance but they’ve paid out the maximum on that sickness – in fact they have it down as auto-immune polyarthritis as that was what they first diagnosed – so I wonder.
I checked the paperwork when the refused to pay the last claim (as I’d gone over the magic figure), and noticed that in the first year of his cover, he wasn’t covered for blagh blach and AIHA!!!!! Interesting who reads these things.
Vally you work in a legal office – you should know better.
hi! everyone, I just checked out the plan linda was telling us about my vet doesn’t take it boo! but I never did take out insurance but keep a fund for just my girls….and, to think I was a insurance agent…ha! shame on me.i am going to check on some plans just to see what I can find… I did have insurance for macey but it never paid anything then dropped it. but sure the plans have changed since then. I just never really thought of looking into a plan after the ordeal with macey’s plan which went up with pups age and ect the one and only plan at that time.thanks all… hope I can find one . maybe I can look into it with hayleys vet’s help on her up coming appointment. lynn
Hi Lynn. Maybe you can ask your vet to look into it. I have saved over $125.00 in just 10 days. X-mas $$.
Vally – cute. Bingo is a good boy, he’ll listen.
Erica – going to look into this too……thanks!
My daughter had a plan right away for Sadie’s sister, Sophie, and paid almost $50.00 a month in Atlanta, GA. This was a plan that was promoted by the vet’s office. They were supposed to pay for Sophie’s spay – but in the end, never paid my daughter one penny, even though she submitted all forms, vet bills, etc. and made many phone calls. She dropped the plan after putting in way too much money.
Erica – you obviously have a great plan. Just saying, buyer be ware. ;)
