- Can’t post for some reason – Sadie update (PCV back up :)
Thanks Sheena. For some reason there was not a place to post to your comment….hmmm…..
Sadie PCV last week (Wed) had been 46. This week (Wed) it was 41, so that was a drop of 5. Tonight we tested her late (8PM). It was back up to 44.
I did panic. I think she’s okay now. I guess it was just the 50% reduction in weaning – may have thrown her body, but she seems to be coming back from this last test. We didn’t do a CBC, just the in-house PCV. I only do the CBC’s before at reductions, about every four weeks. Sound right?
Her gums are bright pink, as is her tongue. She seems full of pep and begs to go outside and for a short walk. It just thrills me to no end to see her like this and when her PCV had dropped so, I really did panic.
We’ll test again on the 26th next week, Thursday, just to be sure she holding. Poor dog will have NO blood left!
Sorry for the additional post, but I wanted to let you know. Go to bed, if you haven’t already. Sadie and I are going to go and get her daddy at the airport – late. She’s staying up to keep me company (although, right now I hear snoring…..).
As always, thanks so much Sheena. I know I get weirded (is that a word?) out easy with her…..
Lots of love to you and the boys! Linda and Sadie
Hi Linda
Have sent a private message – thank you for putting my mind at rest last night – I confess to having gone to bed though! I was looking through Worzel’s tests & PCV did vary quite a bit when he was getting better – Patrice is saying that too, so I think it’s just a case of re-testing to prevent over-worrying!
Love
Sheena & the boyz
Is it just me??? If I’m not logged in, I don’t see all the posts on THIS forum. For example, if I just log in without being signed in, I don’t see this current topic. When I sign in, I see this topic.
I’ll need another lesson too :)
Bingo normally tests on a PCV of low 40s. His last test was 48 though and he gets checked again tomorrow, so I’m expecting a drop. I’ll be thrilled if it’s 48 again, or thereabouts, but I’m really expecting the low 40s again. His bloods seem to go all over the place. He’s now being checked every 2 months and on the last 2 occasions, we dropped his pred a smidgen. I’m sort of hoping we’ll drop it a further smidgen this time, but if it has dropped by a bit, I dare say, we’ll wait.
