Patrice he’s actually been great. Seems to have more energy – I wonder whether it’s because the weather has finally cooled down.
The TBIL – 18 (0-15) from the previous test also has me worried. I actually asked for the full blood test as I had noticed he was drinking more water. Didn’t seem to need to go to the toilet more often but he was definitely drinking more – then again – we’ve had a really hot summer, but this suddenly seemed different. Vet said on examination his bladder didn’t seem unusual.
In the last 6 weeks, I’ve cut out more fat from his diet as well as increased his milk thistle by a fair bit and he’s lost some more weight. He’s probably on the leaner side now, but that’s better for his joints in any event. I started to worry he was losing too much weight, so I’ve upped his proteins by a bit more and his weight has inched up a little bit again – every time I pull out the scales (which is only about once or twice a day Bingo!!!) Bingo takes off – he hates being weighed – obviously very self conscious about his weight.
I will post results tomorrow.

Test day tomorrow. Can everyone please cross their fingers, toes and paws. Wow it’s been a long 6 weeks.
I really don’t think I’ll be able to fast him. Appointment at 11.00 am. We’d leave home about 10.00. He says there’s no way he’ll survive that long without food.
He’s been acting great lately so I’m not tooooooo worried.
The sheath of his penis was very red a few days ago. Of course this was on Good Friday when local vets are closed. I washed it with salt water for a day and then started using a product called Wound Gard, that I bought on line (at a somewhat much cheaper price) after the one the vet gave me had expired. It’s an antiseptic with a bitterent. Seems to have worked a charm, all redness now gone. It didn’t seem to be causing him any problem though. In any event, all cleared up now.
He’s just come in from the front with dad where he’s obviously been doing some gardening as he’s now tracked in lots of dirt and his feet and legs are covered in it.
Linda, I know the Atopica worries you because of the poos. There is the test to determine how much Atopica is in the blood and it may very well be that the amount is so minute, in which case it could probably be dropped at this point. I think the test is fairly expensive though.
I think, since Sadie is still taking the prednisone, it would be fairly safe to drop the Atopica.
Ultra ultra parranoid Vally would probably go to every 4 days for a couple of weeks, then every 5 days for a couple of weeks etc. When we get to the 1 a week mark, surely it’s safe to drop it.
