- That time of year….
You are right, for sure, Maura – our beloved companions are thinking of us always, at holiday times and every day….. wherever they are. We still had both Meg and Honey in our lives this time last year; at the time my sister noted that Meg had got quite thin (but then remembered Meggie was 17). It will be hard. But last year, too, my poor dad didn’t want to do christmas at all as it was too soon after we lost Mum. At least this year we have persuaded him to go next door to his grandson’s house, and we will all join him there for christmas dinner. So, despite our misery as we remember all those we have lost, there is a little glimmer of something more positive
I hope everybody has a holiday full of love
Lynda xx
Dear Lynda,
thank you very much for posting this lovely poem. I loved it so much that I read it today just before we sank my brother in law’s urn into the ocean from a fish boat. It was just the perfect thing to say. I will ask Patrice to insert it somewhere into the bridge page. Yes the holidays can be difficult, one day at a time and remember for every joy that passes something beautiful remains.
With lots of love and best wishes to all of you,

Thank you Lynda for this beautiful poem. I think it will touch every one of us, and is perfect. Christmas is lovely, but also so hard when you are hurting. I don’t know why, but it seems to make it all the more poignant to carry the burden of grief.
Monday was the one year mark of losing Molly. I remember last Christmas and how hard it was, and my heart breaks for those going through it this year. Strangely, I dreamt vividly of Molly the day before. Coincidence perhaps, but a lovely one.
Mable and I would like to send you all great big Christmas hugs and kisses and purrs, and most especially to those of you who are missing someone this Christmas.
