- Staffie X Tiger Diagnosed with AIHA
Hi Everyone,
Wanted to give you all a quick update on Tiger!
His recent PCV results are 36 as of today which I am very pleased with :) His result on Wednesday was 34 and on Monday 34, so if anything, Tiger is on a slow but consistent uptick.
His belly swelling has come right down, and he has begun eating so much I can barely keep up. I am finding that the best solution is to feed him half dry food soaked in warm water so it takes more space up in his stomach and a serving of lean meat for each meal.
His energy levels are returning to where he was post all this, and he seems to be less agitated/dazed than he was when he first started the meds.
Overall I am very pleased :) and to top it off, his getting better coincides with my birthday tomorrow. I couldn’t have asked for a better present.
Thanks again to all of you for your advice and support. I will keep you in the loop.
Adam and Tiger xx
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update on Tiger. He is on his final course of prednisone now and is taking 10mg once every other day.
His last PCV came in at 46 and he is without a doubt back to his normal old self. In a little over a week we will be stopping the meds all together as per the specialist’s advice and I am hopeful that Tiger will make a full recovery.
Thanks again to all of you, I appreciate the fact you were there for me in my time of need.
Adam xx
Hey Adam!
Such great news – this has cheered me up so much & I’m glad everything has gone to plan for Tiger. Thank you for letting us know. I hope you will keep in touch – other owners need some moral support, especially when they are at the beginning of this scary journey & it really helps to hear from other people who have battled with this disease.
Well done Tiger – you are a real superstar. Adam – you are a great Dad & have been a tough fighter on Tiger’s behalf. Glad all is going well!

Adam, that is just the best news. Thanks so much for coming to tell us.
As Sheena said, it would be great if you could pop in every now and then. There are always new people showing up and to be encouraged by someone who has gone through it is a huge help.
Well done you two!!!
