- Split: Split: For Hope and Steve
Hey Brigitte!
No I’m super grateful you did — I really wanted to for peace of mind but hubby kept telling me to just watch him. Your advice was the catalyst I needed to take him in! And I feel better now. So thank you totally!
Hope
I think that’s what’s coming — bibs and airplane shaped plastic spoons. He’s my child in every other sense of the word so I might as well do the whole thing!

Hey all!
I don’t know what to do — Steve obviously doesn’t feel well. He’s lethargic and weak and doesn’t want to eat or drink. I brought him in and they said he’s okay, PCV is 41% and to just withold food until tomorrow but he looks like he feels like crap.
Should I bring him in again and ask them to give him fluids? Or just wait until tomorrow?
Hope
Oh why do they do this to us??? Nothing has changed med wise other than lowering the pred, is that right? Did they feel his tummy when he went in? Is it sore? I’m wondering if he possibly has a bout of pancreatitis or perhaps he’s really feeling the pred reduction, his adrenal glands not coping with the sudden drop. I don’t know, just things running through my mind.
I’d probably, at the least, ring the vets or maybe go back again.
If you think he’s not right, don’t wait too long.

Hey Vally!
We added Denamarin yesterday as well (before I was giving just milk thistle but Steve’s regular vet gave us a free box of Denamarin to try). Today the vet supposedly looked him over real quick. I’ve palpated on him a few times and he doesn’t seem to be tender or sore anywhere. He’s barking at imaginary noises and he jumped up when I got his leash but other than that he’s pretty wiped out. When I took him out he just stood there instead of straining against the leash to run.
I think I’m most worried he’s going to get super dehydrated bc he’s not drinking anything.. I’m going to keep watching him and if he looks any worse or doesn’t look better rather I’m going to run him in.
Duh, yes in one ear out the other. I remember now – the Denamarin – it sounds like it may be that. Are you giving milk thistle separately as well – could be too much? I started using milk thistle powder and it really seemed to upset Bingo’s tummy.
Can you syringe some water into him for now – small amounts to make sure he doesn’t start vomiting again.
