- Split: Split: For Hope and Steve
Hi Patrice!
He is on 0.22mL lovenox every 8 hours — I had seen that clip you posted about it being administered every 6 hours normally so I’m not sure why his is every 8 hours. Does that give you any insight into if he is at acute risk or non-acute risk? I’m super panicky about the whole PTE thing so I’m very interested.. When the vet first put him on it with the aspirin I asked why both and he said that’s his standard protocol. I don’t know tho.
I jus called the vet and they said nothing has to be given that strictly — which I found a bit odd. I asked if it was okay to give it 1.5 hours early basically.
I can’t miss the dinner bc it’s for me lol – today’s my birthday tho I would much rather have stayed home. Whole family came in .. Can’t get around it. But like I said, I am not adverse to leaving hubby at home. What do you think?

This actually also brings to mind another question.. The vet had said that when Steve goes in for another visit on 7/14, we can maybe stop the Lovenox since it’s so expensive (about $300 every 2 weeks). I really don’t care about the price.. I’m much more concerned with making sure he doesn’t get a PTe. My question is dumb I guess but the risk of PTE goes down as their PCV gets better? I would think he would stay on lovenox until he is totally weaned off of immune suppressants, if ever.
Also, to answer your question above, he’s been stable at 40-41% for about 2-2.5 weeks .

Thank you, vally!!
It’s July 5th actually — funny tho, I’m from South Korea and I was born on July 5th in Korea, July 4th in USA. So technically I could maybe claim July 4th as my birthday!?! I’ve considered it lol! You should totally come visit over the 4th one day — it’s a huge party everywhere!
Xoxo hope and Steve and stinker
The difference is in dosing is according to the risks of thrombosis. Lapsing in a critical care patient might prove dangerous. Erring on the side of caution in an ambulatory patient at home is probably less critical.
As I said, I don’t think at this point it is probably necessary, but again I haven’t see the latest blood tests so I have no idea what his status is at this point.
If they are thinking of discontinuing it then they also think it isn’t necessary. So in that case, a few hours on either side won’t make a big difference. But I would shift the other end a few hours and then shimmy back and forth with the times to get it back to normal over a few days. If you can understand what I am saying?
my best

Hey Patrice!
Thanks so much — I understand you completely.. I gave it at 6.5 hours today instead of 8, so next dose I planned to give at like 6.75, then maybe 7 and so on til I get to 8 hours between. Is that right?
Hope
Hey Tamara and mr Ashki!
Thanks so much! It was a really low key day — I forgot about my birthday to be honest with everything going on with mr Steve! Lol! But I am full and hanging with Steve so life is good!
Hugs to y’all!
