Thankyou Sheena and Amy, for some reason I cant see all of your message Amy? Just the slice at the end is missing? love Jill & Snoopy XXXX
It sounds like you and Snoopy are doing very well. I just wanted to pass on a bit of information that I learned yesterday. If you feel snoopy still needs help being built up by diet try to find food high in amino acids. Adding turkey is a great start. Also to help with digestions so they can absorb the amino acids properly adding goats milk to their diet will help to balance the bacteria in their digestive tract and aid in proper absorption and digestion of their food. You can often find goats milk frozen but you can get it from most groceries as well. You don’t have to give a lot just a tablespoon or so at every feeding if you only feed once a day start out with 1 Tablespoon and increase up to 2 or 3 over time as to not cause diarrhea. This will help to balance their gut and help their body get all the good stuff they need to heal. Also there is a food called IMMUNITY and you can order online. It has a lot of great stuff to help support healing. Also she added prescription strength fish oil. Coal smells like a can of tuna but if it helps the immune system I will live! Maybe with some nose plugs! :)
Be Well!

Hi everyone, thankyou Sheena for sorting Amys message so I could read it clearly!Amy thankyou for sharing the advice about goats milk, I looked into it and it sounds good, however Im a bit weary of giving Snoopy different foods in case his diareh comes back, was it your vet that recommended the goats milk and immunity , fish oil? Snoopy is ok , still larthagic , but as soon as I open the container were I keep his drugs he comes running, as most of them are with food! I cant wait till he is off these horrible drugs, it takes time and is a long process to wean them off, I never stop checking him or worrying about him. I hope your puppy is doing well Amy, and Sheena I hope your doggie hasn’t had anymore falls in the night! love and hugs to everyone and there doggies , keep well, Jill & Snoopy, xxxxxx
Hi Jill! You are doing such a great job with all this. I just wanted to reiterate to only do one drug reduction at a time and do it slow, as everyone has said. Sadie’s entire relapse problem started with a very aggressive weaning.
Sadie is also on cyclosporine, so I’m not help there. Sorry.
But wanted to mention Keifer too. I am going to start Sadie on this in the next week. Right now, she gets a probitic daily, which is great, but this might be good too. I know what you mean about the good BM – why mess this up, right? But the probiotic actually helped with that too.
Sending love and cuddles to Snoopy,
Linda and Sadie
Hi Linda, thankyou for your message , i am following the charts Sheen sent for reducing the predon, our new vet said this was fine, however he wanted us to stop the azthioporine when i run out of it , which i am not going to do ,as we are due to see vet for second pcv on Thursday, and i am going to be taking info to convince him to wait till Snoopy is off the predon then start weaning the azthioporine? It is a worry. Was just looking into the Keifir you mentioned?it sounds good, would it be a good idea for snoopy? and is it safe to use with drugs Snoopy is on? i want to do all i can for him. i hope Sadie is doing well, love and hugs Jill and Snoopy xxxxx
Kefir Is not good for dogs. It CAN cause diarrhea. Human probiotics do not work in dogs like they do in humans. They will not hurt but it is an expensive fix that doesn’t really do anything to help your dog nutritionally or to balance their gut. The goat milk will not cause diarrhea BUT any change in diet can cause loose stool so if you do add goat milk go slowly as any change in diet or increase in food causes loose poop and then absorb less nutrition which is something we don’t want. I am sorry if I confused you about it causing diarrhea it won’t. Only if you add a bunch of it quickly as in any food change.
