Susie, this is wonderful news. Exactly as Sheena said. Can I just ask, the prednisone tablet, are we talking about a 5mg tablet?
What an achievement, going from a big jar to a little jar of meds. People think we’re nuts, but that’s a big step isn’t it.
Congratulations you two.

Hi Vally!
Yes, it’s a 5 mg. So, she’s been down to 1.25 for a whole month now. I keep thinking of you meticulously cutting Bingo’s pred into eighths, and I realize that either my cutter isn’t nearly as awesome, or more likely, Emily’s mom isn’t nearly as awesome as Bingo’s mom. You are one determined lady! I’ll have to just go this alternating route instead.
Thanks to both you and Sheena for your great counsel and encouraging comments.
You’re so right, too! Nobody understands how huge a deal it is to be at this point, except for those who’ve fought this battle and come through victorious!
Love, Susie and Emily❤️
Oh really?! I had no idea. Thanks for that info.
PS. I’m still impressed by your skills, Vally❤️
Emily’s been every other day of prednisone at 1/4 dose (1.25mg). She’s still at 48 on her PCV and I’m needing advice for the next reduction. Can anyone suggest how to proceed?
Thanks in advance,
❤️Susie
Susie, 48 is a fabulous PCV. Well done Emily.
You could probably very safely go to every third day, but paranoid me, would probably do 1/4, skip, 1/4, skip, skip, 1/4, so keep doing every second day, but every second time, skip an extra day. Does that make sense?
I’m currently doing 1/4, 1/8, 1/4, skip, but the vet did tell me that the 1/8 is really having no impact at all, but I find I can’t just drop that. I’ve now been doing this for 5 weeks, so I’m thinking at about week 8, I’ll just go to 1/4 every second day, if I’m brave enough.
Love Vally & Bingo
