Vally,
Thank you for that explanation of the PCV/TP. That totally makes sense!
Emily woke up today feeling better than I’ve seen her since this whole nightmare started! You’d never even know how sick she’s been!! Actually playing with her baby sister. Yay!!
Thank you for your help,
Susie & Em
Hi Susie
I’m sorry I’m a little late in saying welcome, but welcome and I am glad you have found us. I’m sorry to hear that dear Emily is going through this, but wonderful that she seems to be on the right track and feeling a little better.
Out of interest, when did she eat the ibuprofen? Was it recent or a long while ago? Some medications can trigger various types of anaemia.
All of us have been through this and understand how hard it is. I think we probably all understand the feelings that we cannot talk about it to others, that we are crazy for spending all that money etc etc. Please know that you never need to feel that way here. We are all devoted to our pets and totally understand.
Please give lovely Emily a cuddle from us.
Mary and Mable x
Hello Mary,
Thank you for the welcome. Your kind words are a comfort to me in this crazy trial.
Emily ate the ibuprofen back in 07.
It was awful. I thought she had died on the way to the emergency clinic.
It was probably the next Fall that her allergies began. I’ve tried different approaches and have yet to find a cure for them. She’s miserable, we’re miserable. It lasts around
2 1/2-3 months.
Also worth adding, she’s just recovered from a horrible yeast overgrowth condition in the last few months. I thought she’d spend the rest of her life in that condition. That was brought on the Fall of 2013 by the vet treating her allergies with prednisone, along with an antibiotic because she’d torn herself up from scratching nonstop.
I can’t stop thinking and questioning what may have triggered this nightmare. I can’t stop watching her, checking her eyes and her gums. I reach out during the night to make sure she’s alive and how her breathing feels.
Again, I just want to say how thankful I am to have found you all. I was praying desperately a few days ago, and then all of you happened!
Lots of love and appreciation,
Susie & Em
Susie, have I offered to make a medicine chart up for you? I don’t think so. If you’d like one, please just list all of Emily’s times and pills here and I’ll get it back to you. you.
Well, she certainly likes to visit her vet by the sounds of things.
I still reach out and check on Bingo now. Especially on the rare occasion when he’s not wriggling and squirming ALL NIGHT, and let’s me sleep.
Love Vally & Bingo
That would be wonderful! Yes, please.
Reglan 0.3 @ 6AM
Prednisone 7.5 @ 6:15AM
Enrofloxin 0.6 @ 6:30AM
Azathioprine 1/2(50mg)@8:30AM
—–
Reglan 0.3 @ 6PM
Prednisone 7.5 @ 6:15PM
Vitamin K 6:15PM (hope to stop 4/1 after consulting vet)
A big thanks!
Actually prednisone and azathioprine should both be given WITH food. These I think can be given together. I think the enrofloxin can also be given at the same time with food.
So I’m thinking :
6am (or 7am) – Reglan
6.30am (or7.30am) – Food with prednisone, azathioprine and enrofloxin.
6pm – Reglan
6.30pm – Food with prednisone and vitamin K
Can someone check for any problem here please.
Vally
