- Sassy – New thread
Had an absolutely horrific time tonight!! NOTHING to do with our pups but I tried to have some normalcy and decided to go see 3 doors down live, like a once in a lifetime chance with this small town. Anyway, concert was a blast but when it was over we discovered around 30 cars were broken into – some had windows smashed, door handles ripped off. They got into our car somehow even with an alarm system… I suppose it didn’t matter because they timed it with the concert and no one was there to hear all the alarms. Got my purse and my mothers, which had my checks, social, credit card, $200 prescription sunglasses, my diabetes blood kit, my glucose tabs. I had to call and lock all my accounts and put out a fraud watch alert on my name for my social. The same situation for my mom basically. It was the purse I got her for Christmas also. Just can’t believe this and needed to vent somewhere. Sassy is keeping me comfort, she knows I’m upset. It is more feeling violated than being upset over missing things.
Oh Alyssa – that’s terrible – there are some really horrible people out there & I’m so sorry you’ve fallen victim to this. I truly hope they get their come-uppence & the police get them. It’s very “personal” & hurtful, plus all the inconvenience of sorting out banks etc.
Have a nice, big doggy cuddle with your girl Sassy – that always does the trick for me!
Love Sheena x
Hi Alyssa
Great to hear about Sassy’s reduction. I’m sure it is a relief to know that your vet is happy to go a bit slower. I know you are worried about the little drop in PCV, but you know Sassy well and I have no doubt you would pick up on it if it was a problem.
I’m really sorry to hear about your night out. People can be so vile sometimes, and this sort of thing makes you feel violated and angry. Completely understand needing to vent. Let’s hope they’ll soon be caught.
All best wishes,
Mary and Mable x
Oh Alyssa, that just stinks, the breaking into your car. We have been having that in our neighborhood recently too. Our neighbor and his, same thing, had gone out and bam. It is such a violation. But to take your scrips, diabetic case, really low. I am so sorry.
About the lab report, woukd they be able to e-mail it to you? It’s a win-win situation, if they will. It’s now digital so you can send it where ever needed without having to scan it yourself! One of Sadie’s new scripts needs to be compounded. I called Blue Pearl and gave them the compounding pharmacies’ e-mail address and had Blue Pearl send it to both the compounding pharmacy and me. What was so neat was, they had not done that before. If it’s on their (vet) computers, they can e-mail it!!! And there’s no privacy issues with animals, just people. :)
I hope you evening is good tonight. Relax with your pup, for sure.
Sending out love, Linda and Sadie
PS – forgot to congratulate you – awesome PCV!!! No worries. 😀
Love, Linda and Sadie
Hi Alyssa. Just checking in on you and beautiful Sassy AND you. I know you’re busy with all the red tape of the other nights unfortunate going on. Any update on that?
How is Sassy doing? Did you decide to reduce further? We’re thinking about you and sending big hugs,
Much love, Linda and Sadie
I’ve been on the phone forever it seems like, had to cancel my credits, close my bank account and reopen a new one, called IRS, put out fraud alerts to the major credit companies. I am PRAYING that these guys just wanted fast cash and wont attempt identity theft but I feel so rotten.
Also, the theme park was trying very hard to block peoples reports and get out of any responsibility. I had made a post that went pretty viral and shortly had all the local news stations contacting me & others. So, now the story is running on all our news stations too and the tone is slowly changing from the park. I wont go into major details because that isn’t what this place is for but anyway it’s been a crazy few days.
Sassy is doing really well, but I did get a call today about her thyroid results – they are REALLY HIGH now!! We are cutting her dose in half, but he said it was way high. I am wondering if I should be concerned, or are we okay now they we’ve halved the dose. I am also wondering if any dogs have been able to just come off thyroid meds? I’ve been told it is a life-long thing. But that her values are so high now seems strange!
We did reduce to 2.5mg a day of Pred. Aza is the same. I am just praying our next checkup she remains at 43%. If it continues to drop lower, even though it is a slow decline, I think I will start getting very upset & concerned (I already am!!)
