Alyssa, I too, am so very sorry for all you and Sassy have endured and this heartbreaking end. But I am so glad that she had you to love her, care for her and give her the best opportunity to be a wonderful companion. She came to you for a reason – to relish in your beautiful and compassionate heart. And you loved her enough to let her go.

I hope your mom starts to feel better. I am sure she is devastated by all this too. But now, focus on you and your mom’s relationship and try to keep yourself healthy too – don’t forget you.
