Hi Alyssa
Worzel had this done a couple of times – he didn’t feel a thing, didn’t flinch at all, I promise. As Brigitte says, it’s going to the vet that’s the worst bit – Worzel HATES it too!
Love Sheena x
Back from the vet, I assume we’ll have results Monday.
Here are the idex results –

And this was the last full idex result –

All the white cells have increased except for basophils.
The urine pulled directly from the urine was light yellow, clear, not cloudy, no blood.
We discussed lowering pred to help her fight an infection, and she is going to be e-mailing the specialist we consult with about it before we make a decision.
Alyssa- please read this – all the WBCs are absolutely fine EXCEPT NEUTROPHILS, which are a bit high – not mega, but are high. It doesn’t matter if the other WBCs are up or down, don’t compare to previous tests – it’s pointless – they are FINE if they are in normal range. Normal is normal. WBCs vary greatly from day to day, test to test. That’s normal.
Urine sample test says bacteria – moderate – see 7th line from bottom

You don’t need blood to have an infection. A culture will show what kind of bacteria you are dealing with.
BACTERIA = infection. Neutrophils high = infection.
I hope you specialist will help you – are you still in contact with Dr Dodds? I would suggest you contact her if so.
Yes, the sterile draw was to make sure the bacteria was actually from the urine and not her fur or something and its going to be cultured at the same time off in the lab.
Okay…
Culture grew absolutely nothing. So, no UTI/bladder infection present.
At this time, absent any other signs of infection, her vet & the specialist they speak with thinks it may just be pred sign effects starting and it is time to start coming down, so we are reducing 25% starting tonight.
Well, I ‘m wondering why moderate bacteria were seen on the other test! Very odd, but it has been a case of conflicting information on infection or no infection all along. Fingers crossed it’s the drugs & wishing you luck with the reduction.

That test was a free catch so.. it could of been on her hair? I dont know! would bacteria present on her hair cause white counts to go up? I could bath her in her medicated shampoo.
