- Sadie’s PCV results today, pinch me
Hi Linda
That’s very interesting about the canine vs. feline atopica. Considering the hideous things they catch and bring in, cats are ridiculously sensitive to a lot of things and there are a shocking number of items which are toxic for them. I will never have foxgloves or lillies around here! Antifreeze and slug pellets are some of our biggest foes. I occasionally use organic “pet safe” slug pellets. I put them down once, and Molly instantly pounced on one and ate it. One of our many, many calls to the vets to check their toxbase! (Thankfully it was fine)
I will have to double check, but I am fairly certain Dr Dodds suggested cyclosporine over chlorambucil for cats too. She also mentioned thyroxine. There is very little in the way of published information in the public domain about feline non-regenerative IMHA, but I will have another look.
Love to you and Sadie.
Mary and Mable x
Thanks Sheena and Mary. As we all say though, I’m almost afraid to be too happy and jinx Sadie’s good fortune! But you know, then there’s just accepting that it’s a well earned gift! Ha. ;)
Sadie would not have had this good report had it not been for my dear, loving friends here. So grateful for you all.
Love and hugs, Sadie
PS – Vally, tell Bingo Sadie thinks she’s so in the buff – she’ll just ‘skinny dip’ – ;) Of course, she’s that full figured look. :) xo
Hi Mary. We must have been posting at the same time.
It is interesting – cats are literally outside, canvassing the land. And keeping track if their moves is hard. There are SO many things they can get into that are toxic. I think, if I had a cat (which I most certainly would if my husband would agree – of course Sadie was a surprise – hmmmmm), it would be totally an indoor cat – I’d be bonkers when he/she was prowling outside!
Sadie absolutely adores cats. In fact, not only cats; she sort of conforms to what ever animal she’s around, mothering them, be it cat, gerbil, hamster, turtle, duck – little mommy. Give Mable a hug from me and Sadie. :)
Love, Linda and Sadie
Bingo HATES cats. Loves their poo, but hates cats. This morning he saw this incredibly huge white cat (and I mean ginormous) and was totally entranced. He was growling and barking and inching closer and I couldn’t get him to come away. Of course it wasn’t a cat, it was a white car cover which next door have put over their cute little red MGB car.
Does Ebay have dog’s spectacles?
Vally – funny. I just bought Sadie sun glasses (due to palsy, sun and not being able to close her eyes all the way) and I can’t figure out how to put them on!!
Just tell Bing, “nice kitty” – poor little guy – he was being so tough. Too cute.
I think “The Antics of Bingo” would make a great children’s book!!
Love and hugs, Linda and full of bull(y) Sadie.
Photo please of Sadie and her sunnies!!!!
I was saying “it’s not a cat, it’s not a cat”. He’s probably hearing “cat! cat! cat!”

Hummmm – I know this is NOT rocket science, putting these sun gasses on this pup… Back to the store, I’ll feel like an absolute idiot when the sales gal slips them on Sadie, effortlessly. Will send pic. Although, I can see her pawing them off. I mean, sun glasses on a pup – really? ;)
That’s true about verbalizing to Bingo. Sometimes (often actually), I swear Sadie understands me. It’s just WHAT word do they pick up on in the sentence? ;)
Love and hugs, Linda and movie star
Hahaha I think Bingo and Sadie would make quite the perfect couple. Bingo with his blue running shoes, Sadie with her sunnies and pink bikini! Look at her little face – too cute! And that she mothers other creatures. Just so sweet. Bingo, I’m sorry that you don’t like cats, especially since you saw such a huge one this morning. So funny! I totally agree that the adventures of Bingo would make a super book.
Linda – I considered keeping the cats indoors, but to be honest, I do think cats are happier with free access to the outdoors. Molly and Mable had already been let out by their original owner. Otherwise, I may have done things differently. They have always been kept indoors overnight though, as I worry about roaming. They have got into so many scrapes indoors, I’m not sure it protects them all that much!
I can’t wait to see a picture of Sadie in her specs!
