- Ollie's arthritis
Hi all. Just realized I wrote back directly to Vally in an e-mail and did not post. I will NOT do the Turmeric. No problem. Thanks for the heads-up!!! :)
I have been on the go (so what’s new?!) and have not ordered the GLM’s for Sadie, but will today. Is there a particular brand?
Love to all, Linda and snap-crackle-pop Sadie
Yes – GLM & gelatin started at half dose on Thursday. I think I might try some GLM myself as Ollie said Bingo was right about them being tasty! Seriously, he got stuck in to his food as usual after a quick sniff to make sure I hadn’t put anything horribly poisonous in there. He is a terrible pill taker – jaw like a vice! – so I’ve put it in his food, no problem, empty bowl in a few seconds flat. I’m glad Worzel was so easy with pills (little angel actually) – Ollie would have been a nightmare.
Mary- thanks for the info – I agree totally. I read up on some human stuff too & I think this GLM looks excellent for people. I have a couple of friends with rheumatoid arthritis & I am going to pass the good news on to them. I am also a huge lover of Moules Mariniere – let’s hope they are good for us too!
Love to all & many thanks for all the great advice,
Sheena, Worzel & Mr Mussel xxxx
Thanks Sheena, Mary (and Mable). Yes, I hear GLM’s are good for people too. I’m going to try it too.
I am looking forward to having Sadie receive Reiki but we have to wait until the holistic vet (pretty new to the group) is back from maternity leave. She is very nice and actually worked on occasion with the holistic vet that I had taken Sadie to months ago. She was awesome, but does not do Reiki. But Sadie had two acupuncture treatments and I think she did well with it. As a matter of fact, she was awesome. I just could not afford to go back ($1,200.00 for two visits, yikes!). This new(er) vet, whom is in with my regular vet’s group, is much less expensive. We’ll definitely give the Reiki a try. I will keep you posted, of course. :)
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Linda, I was writing a nice long email to you about the GLM and Lynn and other stuff and it’s gone :( I noticed the one you found (Pure Formulas) has alfalfa leaf and cinnamon oil with it. I actually sprinkle a seriously itsy bitsy teensy weensy bit of cinnamon in Bingo’s food but don’t know anything about alfalfa leaf. I believe too much cinnamon is not good. The one I get for Bingo is simply 100% GLM and in fact just checked on line (I’m at work and can’t check the bottle), the capsules are 850mg, not 500mg – have to check this hasn’t changed. GLM is very available here in all chemists. All the ones here all use New Zealand GLM – in fact I think they are only found (grown?) there.
I open the capsule and pour the powder into Bingo’s food. Before AIHA days, I used to shove them down his throat at meal times, but when diagnosed with AIHA and prescribed with the required 18 thousand tablets to take in the early days, I just thought that’s one capsule too many. The lady at work just hands the capsule to her dog who just takes it and eats it happily. It does smell so I understand her dog is happy to eat it. Bingo was happy to roll on it, but was playing with it too much which made it hard to stuff the slime covered capsule down his throat.
PS Forgot to warn everyone – BEWARE of fish breath!!! Bingo has bad fish breath. I haven’t noticed it on dad and no-one has been rude enough to mention it to me.
Love Vally & fish breath.
