- Mattie has been diagnosed with AIHA
Dear Robert and family,
I am so sorry to read about Mattie. This disease is so complex and many times even if we do ALL the right things our dogs do not survive. Unfortunately I know this from our own experience. Please don’t blame yourself, Mattie was well taken care of and loved by all of you. Even if it was a short one, she had a good life.
If you feel up to it, this forum created a page called “the bridge”(at the top of the page in the blue banner), a column written by someone that has experienced the loss of a dog from this awful disease. Maybe it can help you a little bit. Of course I don’t know exactly how you feel, but I have a pretty good idea. No words can heal your broken heart right now. I know you have many wonderful memories of happy times with Mattie, these memories will eventually ease the pain and make you smile again when you think of her.
Please accept my sincere condolences,
Brigitte
I am so very sorry to read this. Crushing. Please know, as we all know here, that you and your family did all you could – Mattie knew your love and allegiance – they know.
I send you my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your precious Mattie.

Very sad news – I am really upset to hear about poor Mattie & send you all my deepest sympathy. Please know you were doing everything you possibly could to help her. This disease is notoriously evil. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know good memories of her will come back in time because you loved her so very much.
Thinking of you all
Sheena
