Morning! I thought I would update on tucker.
Since switching the atopica to the proper dosing he has had a marked improvement. Alert, much less panting, increased hunger, the food aversions seem to be lessening and increase in gum pinkness.
He had eaten a wee bit of kibble and wet food and is still moving the beef (switched to grass fed stew beef) and a bit of rice. He’s not interested in any carbs (veggies, potato etc) just beef.
I’m very pleased to see such a swift improvement. I do feel that he needs time and rest and he’s not out of the woods but I have a renewed sense of hope. I no longer wonder if it’s “time”.
I also heard back from Dr Dodds! She all ready has things to implement to help him regenerate rbc quicker, support his liver and improve his nutrition. I’m very excited to have her on our team.
Right now our goals are to get firm stools (adding back in pumpkin and probiotics), to get him eating a nutrient dense diet (so far beef and some wet dog food but would like to add in more veggies etc) and of course to help him regenerate more rbc and decrease the rate in which he’s destroying them.
Very excited to see where he is in 7-10 days time!!
Thank you all for your continued support and advice. I welcome any suggestions!
