- Hello – after a long time
Forgot to say we have all our babies ashes plus Mums & Dads sand from beaches in a sunny spot too – nice to chat sometimes.
When I went to ask if Worzel’s ashes were back, a lovely lady from The Brigitte Bardot Foundation came in to the vets car park & was so sweet to me, asking why I was sobbing in my car & could she comfort me. She said her patron adores greyhounds & had written a letter to the government about Macau/China & greyhound abuse – she got 20 euros donation on the spot of course.

Uhhhh – that’s a good point, Sheena. We live on a farm, so there is loads of space to run….. but the garden fences are not enormous. I might look at Cathy’s website. Trouble is, both breeds are in dire need, through the most appalling cruelty (and I can’t unsee pics from either place – way too many gruesome images fill my Facebook feed: I have to compensate by joining lots of nice groups (Sighthounds on Sofas; ilovesighthounds etc – to fill my screen with cuddly greyhound pics. I don’t know how Kerry and Cathy do it!!! I most certainly could not. I bought a lovely handmade quilt (and a knitted coat for Dora, sadly) in the Candy Cane auction recently. I Nam had been busy chewing the quilt yesterday because I was out all day. Never mind that she had three long walks with other people in my absence. I wasn’t there, so it’s chewing time. But we love them anyway, don’t we? And some moments of missing them are worse than others – Baxter, a dalmatian who lives next door, was in our garden this morning. It was always Dora who woofed at him to see him off. That brought a tear to my eye. Anyway, love to all your family

Thank you Vally. At least it was relatively fast, and we don’t think she suffered. And she had had 10 wonderful years with us.
Yes, it is always much too short a time. But as you will have gathered….. we know that Dora would want us to open our hearts and home to someone else who needs it….

Lynda- yes, have a look at Cathy:

I just right click google translate, or it’s automatic on my tablet. Be careful looking around – there are some horrible photos & reports, but mainly it’s nice adoption photos & positivity.
I found this when we were pondering about which breed:

All the adoption groups for galgos in France (22 of them!) said a 2m fence was needed – the cost of that would have been crazy with our fairly big garden. Plus Aunty Cathy was thrilled we wanted greyhounds – not many French people even know exactly what breed they are or what they are used for. Most are as shocked as I was when I tell them what happens in the UK, (we are so, so bad), Ireland, USA, Australia etc.
Dora is as happy as Ollie & Worzel that you are welcoming new doggies later on – of course they would gladly share!
