Just got phone call for Flossies Blood test results and her Hematocrete is at 47 .. so after 2 weeks off meds .. she’s doing good. They want another blood test in 2 weeks ..
Oh Valley that’s funny Bingo won’t take the ACV .. I have a raw feeding group I follow on FB .. even though I don’t raw feed yet. Anyhow several people say their dogs won’t go near it either even in disguise. Flossie seems to like things that are bitter she likes root vegetables ..I know this because when we have carrots, potatos etc .. she literally turns circles at the smell and begs for them .. so I offered her one day a piece of strawberry, blueberry and banana .. turned her nose up to all .. so she’s not a sweet gal but a bitter gal. Maybe that’s why the ACV doesn’t bother her ?
Well another good CBC for Flossie.
Late November hematacrete was 45
Dec. 26th hematacrete was 47
Jan. 10th Hematacrete 44.7
She has been off All meds for 4 weeks.
Gums and Eyes still good and red .. energy level good. Eating like a horse. Overall doing really well at this point.
The only things she is on are Goats milk Kefir, Bovine Colostrum, Milk Thistle and Sam-E and I have kept her on the D’mannose for UTI because of them finding the E-coli several months back that we couldn’t fight with antibiotics just want to be sure nothing takes hold at this critical time while coming off meds.
The only thing I am dealing with currently is loss of hair above her eyes.. not sure why .. and because she’s a springer she has loss of hair around bottom of mouth area .. so I started treating yesterday by washing with her Chlorahexadine shampoo in those areas just lightly and rinsing .. then applying coconut oil. In just 3 washes and applications of CO .. we think it’s already looking better. So hopefully it’s bacterial in nature maybe spread from mouth to eyes from washing face with paws ?
Other than that good news from our camp at this time ..
Hugs to all

Sara, so happy for you and Flossie! Thanks for posting your progress. Very informative to see/read about the difference phases of treatment. I still need to look into the goat keifer. Kind of funny because I buy the human brand in the dairy case for myself. Maybe I too can use the goat keifer. Wishing you and Flossie continued excellent health –Ramona & Charlie
Thanks Valley and Ramona ,,
Ramona you can use the Goat Kefir you drink for Charlie as long as it’s Raw Kefir and does not have any added sugars or flavors…

Need Some Input …Regarding Diet
Hi Gals .. well yesterday I awoke to Flossie having another skin breakout. This is the smallest breakout thus far .. but still something is going on.
she has 4 breakouts 1. behind back leg 2. behind front leg 3. on Neck 4. on side just as side and tummy area meet.
She gets a red raised bump that gets flaky scabs that fall off into the hair.
This is what she has gotten all along and the original skin test said Pyoderma.
So I started washing them individually with her chlorahexadine shampoo. Then applying Colloidal Silver P.m. and then washing again in A.m. and applying coconut oil. This routine will clear it up. But the point is there has to be an underlying culprit.
So my question is can this still be a side effect of the cyclosporine ? How long does it stay in the body. She’s been off it now for 5 weeks.
FYI: She has no body odor, no ear infections, just trys occasionally scratching or biting at sores so they must itch.
If not that then my only other determination is it’s a food allergy ?
She eats Acana Duck and Pear ( single protein dog food) , Pumpkin, Goats Milk Kefir and some green beans. Along with Supplements
Do any of you feed Raw or home cooked diets ?
I am so frustrated for her because I thought coming off that last med would help clear her skin issue up ..which I might add she did not have prior to getting ill.
Anyone have any thoughts ? I have been researching for the last 24 hours reading article after article.
