It’s 4 years ago today that we first met Louis and he changed our lives.
He is currently at Rutland House because he has stopped eating and drinking and seems to be in pain, just as we start to get somewhere with his blood, something else happens and we are in that really dark place again.
I’ve not been able to go with him, which is heart breaking but I just hope Stefano can do something to ease his pain and allow him to come home, I really could not face losing him today – of all days.
I’ll update as soon as I know.
Love Louis Mum xxx
Hi Karyn
Everyone on here is thinking about you & Louis. Hoping they can get him feeling better – sending love, hugs, hope, prayers to you all.

Stefano has asked to keep Louis in over the weekend because he is showing signs of being interested in food, but when it hits his tummy he gags, he said his gums are pinking so they are going to hydrate him and give him pain relief, hopefully we can pick him up on Sunday.
They are going to do some more in depth blood tests, so i’m going to see if i can have a copy of these.
Love Louis Mum
Hi Karyn
I hope they can get to the bottom of this not eating quickly. Maybe his oesophagus is ulcerated with the meds? Or swollen for some reason? Sore moth? Sore tongue? I think it’s very wise to keep him in & you know he is in good hands as they all love him so much!
And I am thrilled to hear his gums are pink – that was the most worrying part of his problem – if that is improving, you really are getting somewhere.
Everyone here is backing you to the hilt. I do feel the pink gums are a great reason to be positive. The not eating can be sorted out.
It would be wonderful if you can get some blood results – that would be a big help – and you can send them to Dr Dodds too.
Loads of love Sheena & the boys xxxxx
Hi Karyn. Yes, we are all rallying for Louis to come home to his wonderful fur parents.
I sure hope they have put him on SOMETHING for his tummy, Carafate, Sucralfate, Pepcid – something. With all the meds, it’s a given – it WILL mess up his tummy and of course, that alone will keep him from eating. Not to be a pest, but please be sure, insist if you must, but tummy protection is absolutely imperative.
We are so thinking of you. You hang in there okay?! Louis is in the right place, especially with the weekend here. Please, please – keep us posted.
Sending much love,
Linda and Sadie
We have had a call from Rutland and the have put him on a protective tummy medicine John didn’t get the name of it and a drip which has brought his PCV down a bit but they told us not to worry about that, he’s feeling a lot better and has eaten some chicken.
If he continues to improve then we might be able to bring him home on Sunday.
Stefano is at a converance this weekend but he has told his intern to call and text him with regular updates.
He has asked us to get the results from the skin biopsy from Liverpool because they won’t release them to him they quoted bloody data protection!
Sometimes vets can be idiots, what is Stefano going to do steal his identity and run a muck being things online with his imaginedy credit cards!
So tomorrows job is to try and beg Liverpool for the results of tests we have paid for!
During the most stressful time of our lives a simple phone call asking if we are happy for them to relase the data would have been the most simple quick answer.
I’ll update you when we have more news
Xx
Hi Karyn
Relieved to hear about the stomach protection – it’s better late than never! I’m sure if Louis has been rehydrated it is good for him, but this does “water down” the PCV – nothing to get too hung up about. It would be great if he can come home Sunday & him feeling better is just the best news.
I feel so bad for you – really angry actually – that the vets are not sharing information. Can you THREATEN THEM Karyn – you have nothing to lose as you have had nothing from them. I find this quite “sick” as all vets should be looking to find the best outcome for their patients.
As long as Louis is stable & in good hands, that’s what matters most. Push for your vets to give all info to Dr Dodds too. She will help if you give her all the info needed. But right now, none of us are any the wiser about what Louis is going through as we have zilch info to work on. Bloomin UK is FRUSTRATING.
Let us know when you hear anything
