He is such an amazing boy and I’m absolutely certain he would say “That’s my blog, not mums – I just send her my messages telepathically and she types them without realising”.
Karyn, I absolutely love his blog. It’s the very best and you have his heart inside you – that’s so obvious and that’s why you have fought this with everything you have.
I totally understand – you need him way out of the woods before you can relax – and like the rest of us – even when they go out of the woods you never ever stop worrying again.
I’m just so very happy to read he’s feeling so good now. How they act is so very important.
Lots and lots of love

Hi Karyn what absolutely great news! so good to hear Louis is doing so well, does nt it just make your heart sing when you walk them after being so ill? whenever im out with Snoopy now we take our time never rush and just enjoy being out! so good to hear him eatimg well again to.xxx That’s great news from your vets to because there is not enough known about this awful desease and its effects, im so glad you are going to do a blog.It is with great thanks I owe so much to this site to, im sure its saved my sanity, and Snoopy, its made me more determined and kept me going through his illness. Sheena has been an absolute godsend to me , and the other ladies are great to! lots of love to you and your lovely boy Louis xxxx
Hi everyone, Louis’s paw has swollen up a bit but we think its because he is more active, but we’ve got some parade to help with it.
He is eating well, and seems to have more energy everyday. He’s playing with Olga and is following us everywhere, he also insists on one of us stroking or at least touching him every second lol, he’s saying “you fought to keep me here, so stroking me is mandatory now” lol.
Not that we mind, I keep checking his gums and there is a lovely shade of pink showing, I’m so excited, he’s also put quite a bit of weight back on too.
Thank you for your continued support, you are and have been my lifeline over the past few weeks. Xxxxxx
My Clumber Spaniel was diagnosed with IMHA. Her red blood cell count plummeted, lethargic, white gums … We requested vet to put her on antibiotics to prevent sepsis since vet said to “just watch her.” Do not “just watch them,” condition worsened so we let Internal Medicine Vet do exploratory surgery on my Clumber’s spleen was removed and she made a FULL Recovery, now on NO IMHA meds at age 10. My dog’s spleen has liquified and was floating inside her abdominal cavity along with two extra liters of fluid when they opened her up in Surgery.
My question: Is there a safe flea medicine for IMHA dogs? Probably not — any suggestions?
The vet has said my IMHA Clumber should NEVER receive a dog vaccine of any kind because it might kill her.
Hi Karyn
I was wondering how that lovely boy was doing! Pardale is a painkiller, so he’s obviously feeling pain-free & happy! I would defo keep up the sucralfate as it seems to have done the trick & Pardale can irritate the tum-tum. I’m still leaning toward the opinion that this is not strictly IMHA – “just” haemolytic anaemia – which of course is very serious & can get out of hand very easily. Goodness I wish we had the bloods!!!!! But it doesn’t matter as long as Louis is improving. Every time I hear how he’s playing, eating, cuddling, enjoying himself, my heart is full of joy for you – I am so happy things are looking GOOOOOOD!
Much love, massive hugs & loads of good wishes,
Sheena & the boys
xxxxx
