Hi Karyn, what great news! I do so hope he keeps improving, its been such a tough time for you all , hes one tough little cookie, at last some good news! thinking of you and your lovely boy Louis, love Jill and Snoopy xxxxxx
Another quick update, Louis is still doing well, and is enjoying life, he’s eating well as the weight is going back on him nicely. He’s wanting to play more with Olga and has shown interest in his toys again which he hasn’t for month’s.
His gums are showing signs of pink! ! Only a pale pink but still it’s something, I have to remember that it’s taken months to get him where he is today and I shouldn’t expect the world in a few days.
Rutland have asked if they can link Louis blog to their Facebook page so people can follow his story about this terrible disease, which I’ve said yes of course, there is an element of advertising for them as well but I, m not bothered if it means highlighting what the right treatment should be.
Xxxxxxx
Hi Karyn
Sounding amazing, fantastic, wonderful! I am just over the moon to hear things are going well – keep it going Louis. If he is having fun & putting on weight, this is the best news you can possibly give us.
It would be nice if people & vets in the UK were aware of our site & what we do here, rather than dismissing us as just some internet “twaddle” group. I wish they understood how hard we work to provide genuine vet/medical info on here, plus owner experience, plus we have supported over 100 owners (plus many more on a previous site). I know this is a pipe dream. I live in hope that their minds will be opened! I for one will be eternally grateful to everyone on here for helping ME when Worzel was ill.
Anyway, enough of that – way to go Louis – that’s what really matters – he’s getting better & better & we are all so happy for you & your lovely family.
Love & hugs
Sheena, Worzel & Ollie xxxxx
I will be shouting about this site and you lovely ladies from the roof tops and will be mentioning you in Louis blog.
He is currently chomping his way through his tea and has been out for a walk round the block, all the while we are sat here wondering what’s going on with his blood. We are never happy lol
Hi Karyn – awesome to read this – AWESOME!!!!
I love that your vet’s clinic wants to link to your blog. I agree with Sheena and I’m sure all here will too, the more the word gets out about this disease and the treatment protocol, the better. And please let me compliment you in your blog, Karyn, you write beautifully! I can just ‘see’ Louis talking with his humor. Too cute!!!
I keep up with Louis through your blog too – but keep us posted here too, okay?
Sheena – you did such a fantastic job with helping and insisting Karyn be heard and encouraging her. And everyone else here too, job well done forum!!! And most of all, you, Karyn, you are such an incredible fur mom (and your husband, an incredible for dad!). Louis is very fortunate to have your love, determination and persistence.
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Hi Karyn
I second what Linda has said. YOU have been incredible. All I did was tell you what I could bearing in mind we had zero to work on in the way of blood tests etc. YOU believed me & everyone else here when we said there was every hope for him when “others” were giving up – but YOU never gave up on him. I cannot tell you how much I admire your guts & absolute determination. Thank goodness you went back to Rutland to someone who was also determined to get Louis back on track.
Glad brave Louis is chomping away – there is nothing more hopeful than a hungry, happy dog!
Here’s hoping he continues to increase his PCV from now on & he will soon be in normal levels. Crossing everything!
Love & huge congratulatory hugs
Sheena & the boys xxxxx
