Hi everyone, well things are strange here, so Louis has been off his immune surpresseants since Monday, he’s been eating like a horse just his normal dog biscuits and drinking well, the most shocking thing is he is really bright and is looking so much better, he’s put weight on and there are signs of pink in his gums!!
What the hell is going on!
Don’t get me wrong we are amazed and really want to be happy but we are waiting for the crash.
He is back to see Stefano tomorrow so we will have a PCV figure and I, ll let you know ☺

Hi Karyn
Sounds like a case of mis-diagnosis or red herrings to me. I think I mentioned the lady up the road who breeds dogs was panicking one of hers had the same as Worzel – I spoke to the local vets – turned out it was just “simple” anaemia caused by an infection (tick probably) & NOT IMHA or anything like that – a good dose of antibiotics & a very quick course of pred did the trick for him. Still worrying of course, but at least it’s easier to treat.
I remember you saying your current vet saying Louis did not have all the signs of IMHA – only some, so maybe a cause to celebrate actually. I hope to goodness that it is only some underlying issue chronic health issue that is resolving with whatever they are doing. If he has always had stomach issues, that is a definitie possibility – malabsorption, stomach bleed that wasn’t treated, ulcers, bacterial overgrowth etc etc!!!!!!
Whatever it is, I am delighted Louis is holding his own & is eating well. If he’s acting better, he is feeling better.
Love Sheen xxxxx
Sorry – forgot to say GOOD LUCK tomorrow – will be crossing everything possible for you

Hi Karyn, that’s brilliant news, so glad to hear Louis is much better. Also what Sheen says does sound more plausible , lets just hope hes on his way up , he truly deserves it, good luck for your appointment ,will be thinking of you, love Jill & Snoopy xxxxxxx
Hi Everyone, so a super quick update!
Louis’s PCV has gone up to 22% which is a 4% increase and he has put on 3kg :)
We are so excited but still cautious, but it looks like we are heading in the right direction. He is eating really well, and slept through the night for the first time in months the other night.
Stefano is flabbergasted at his latest results and has sent his bloods off again for an FBC .
This is been the most heartbreaking and upsetting journey we have ever had with our dogs, but I am hoping with all my might that he is coming out the other side.

It’s certainly one big mystery – who cares though – As long as things are going in the right direction.

Never giving up – you can lecture anyone & everyone on this – our dogs have every chance & you have proved that!
