It’s lovely to be back in touch, but I’m really, really sorry to hear about your younger Schnauzer baby passing – so sad. Please accept my condolences, Tara. Rotten news.

Please don’t worry too much about the small PCV/RBC changes – I agree with Brigitte & Vally – get another one done in 2 weeks to stop yourself worrying too much (as we do!). Platelets are not in danger zone, but I can understand why you’re worried. Bacteria in the urine seen?  Must be something going on then – I agree totally about getting a culture done.The raised neutrophils could be because of bacterial infection, but the pred causes this too, although Diablo’s dose is not very high now.  Have a quick look in the AIHA terms at prednisone – there is a lot of information about side effects there. Might be an idea to get a creatinine & BUN included in the next blood test too, also urine concentration. Again, there is information in the AIHA terms about these tests . We would LOVE to hear what you think about the information in the AIHA terms (it is not yet complete unfortunately) as we have spent quite a lot of time writing it and would like to know if you find it useful or have any ideas.

As you can see, Bingo keeps us entertained still & we are really enjoying being back in touch with each other – welcome back & so glad you’re here too. Lots of cuddles to Diablo – how is he in himself?

Hello Sheena!  So nice to hear from you and hear that Worzel is doing so well. Diablo is acting himself except for his frequent urination and now urination 1-2 times per night. I will definitely take a look at the terms…thanks to everyone who has contributed to that because it is soooooo helpful (and trustworthy). I believe is BUN and creatine were on the last chem panel and they were normal. I will definitely ask for a urine culture….going to go back Monday!

Lots of luck to you both on Monday – you know I’ll be thinking about you & Diablo. If BUN & creatinine were OK last time, that’s great news. I’ve just been writing the glossary term for “Urinalysis” & I’m sure looking at the sediment might help. It does sound like prostate, stones or infection possibly.  Even the boys have things to contend with when they get older! It’s lovely to be back in touch

Just “finished” urinalysis in the AIHA terms – I think you might find it useful for Diablo on Monday.  I’m sure these terms will be continually added to, but at least we’ve got something reasonably detailed to refer to for now.
