Weekly update. Lowered prednisone to 20 mg twice daily. It’s taken a toll on her. The past few days Ellie has been more alert. She continues to eat and drink more than ever. RBC dropped one today. Now at 24. Vet isn’t concerned as prednisone dose lowered 5 days ago and she is basically holding steady. Vet also started Ellie on marrow plus ji xue teng herbal supplement today. Tomorrow she starts a liver cleans pill that is all natural to help flush toxins. These were both recommended by her vet. Vet believes next weeks labs will be true as to the direction Ellie is going.

She’s sounding very good Lily. A drop of 1 is not a problem. In fact I always found that after a reduction in prednisone, there always seemed to be a bit of a drop, as though the body were readjusting.

The liver pill, is that Denamarin? That works a treat.

Yes. It is Denamarin. I feel better with you confirming lowering prednisone could lower blood count. Hopefully this week is better. Thank you.

How is Ellie doing? My almost 6 year old Maltese was just diagnosed and we are only in our first week.
