- Blue American Staffy just diagnosed with AIHA
Hey vally sorry, forgot to get back to all of you. Have been so crazy busy lately.
Umm so yer took storm back to vets on Tuesday and seen a different vet, because the vet I seen a week before was just a fill in because the head vet was away. So got in to the room and told the vet what had happened the week before and said the other vet diagnosed him with Auto immune hemolytic annemia. When I said that she gave me a very odd look. So we proceeded to do his CBC and she gave him a check over and all that was fine. Got the results back of the blood test and all his levels are back in the normal range and his basophils were normal too. Well wasn’t I relived. So she gave me some more pred anyway to continue with because she wanted to check with the specialist there who doesn’t work on Tuesdays and the head vet to see what they reccomended and if they thought it was possible AIHA. So got a call back on Wednesday after she had done that. And they don’t believe it is AIHA and what ever it was has now cleared up and all they could put the high basophils down to was a miss read on the machine. So now I am in the process of cutting down his meds. Taking half a tablet a day for 5 days then half every second day for 5 days. But now as of Thursday my lil baby has abit of a cold. Sneezing and snotty nose and was abit off colour on Thursday but last 2 days has been back to himself, just still snotty. So hoping he gets over that soon. So I’m so super excited that he dosent have AIHA but wish I could know what would have caused the events to happen.
Well, that’s a big YAY from me. Machines do misread, for sure. I’m really really glad. Let’s hope the snotty nose goes away soon too.
When was Storm last vaccinated?
AIHA can often be associated with vaccinations. So use Dr Jean Dodd’s protocol in the future to keep Storm healthy. I’d always recommend titer testing for immunity over vaccinations. I titer tested my boy, Bingo, and the tests always came back that he had heaps of immunity. So no need to vaccinate.
This is Dr Dodds protocol on vaccinations.

Feel free to always pop in and let us know how your beautiful boy is doing.
