Wonderful news about the PCV and ALT, and also great to hear that the vet doesn’t feel any further testing is needed for his recent symptoms. Very best of luck with the reduction. He is doing so well Vally, you must be thrilled to bits with today’s results.

Oh Vally I know your worry!! I am glad Bingo is doing well. I almost hate to say Diablo is doing well because just when I do there is something else to worry about!!

Oh Vally and Bingo – WONDERFUL news!!!  It’s the best shot of happy!!

I asked Sadie’s vet about how we’ll know when the adrenal glands kick in too.  She feels that with Sadie’s weight and the current dose she’s on with the prednisone (5mg 1xD), it’s about the same amount that her body would be producing in itself.  Same as what your vet said, I think.  Anyway, it is a tricky situation and goodness knows a scary one, the weaning – particularly at the nitty-gritty low dose(s).  But Bingo boy – you are awesome!!  Way to go!!!!

Sheena – great news about the gelatin and GLM’s doing great for Ollie!  So nice to read that!  Yes, Vally – thank you SO much!  I am waiting until coming back in July to start Sadie.  I will post why on a separate post.  As I have said before,  just when the water is calm……but Sadie’s hanging – don’t worry.  Just a setback – maybe.

I have been AOL – so sorry.  I’d like to say it will get better, but summer has me going in circles.  I used to be organized, I really did – now where did I put Sadie’s pill chart?

I was wondering why you won’t start a new post with a happy smile.  Let’s not jinx them.

I survived (I mean Bingo) first every 2 day reduction.  I kept poking his during the night to check he was okay. Now I’m wondering if I can do it again, or do you think I should do:

1/4 – 1/8 – 1/4 – skip – 1/4 – skip (repeat) – this is average of 0.729mg daily (over 6 days)

or

1/4 every second day – average 0.625mg daily (over 2 days)

(He was previously on 1/4 – 1/8 – 1/4 – skip – average 0.78 over 4 days)

I’m seriously thinking of taking the first option for say 3 weeks or so, that will give me the hang of the every 2 days with a break in between with a 1/8th every 6 days.

What do you think?  Am I totally insane yet???

We are all totally insane & paranoid because of this disease. FACT!!

I like your first option too, but you know how safe I play everything, especially as I know Bingo’s relapse history is rumbling in the back of your mind.
