- Ashki – new thread
Oh Tamara – this is the best news!!!! Way to go Mr. Pink!!!!
Lots of love and huge hugs,
Linda and Sadie
Thank you Linda, Sadie, Vally, and Bingo :) . I am just thrilled and Ashki is feeling very good, happy wagging tail most of the time, rubbing on his back with legs up in the air, digging after the gophers, and keeping an eye on all the cats from his window.
Ashki is up to 34.3!! I think a new recommendation for all non-regenerative dogs needs to be to add folate rich foods to the diet :).
Sending you all lots of hugs and love —

Hi Tamara
That is just the best news ever & a HUGE improvement – you are doing such a good job with him. I am sooooooo happy for you & Ashki. And I totally agree – they desperately need blood building blocks like folate & B Vits in their diet & they also need to be able to absorb them properly. Worzel was put on folate etc straight away by the specialist for his bone marrow failure. If they can’t absorb it, their GI tract needs special care too. I think you are probably the world’s expert on all this by now – it’s thanks you you being a clever thing that Ashki is getting better. All I can say is whoopeeee!!!!!! Many congratulations & have a wonderful, worry-free weekend.
Love & cuddles from Sheena, Worzel & Ollie xxxxx
Thank you Linda, Vally and Sheena! Linda, Ashki has been getting green beans or zucchini with his meals so I’ve been adding to that lentils, kale, and spinach. I cook it all in the crock pot until it’s nice and mushy thenI cool it and run it through the food processor so it’s like baby food. I was also adding carrots, but even with the cooking he wasn’t digesting them (little orange bits in his poo) so I quit that. Sheena, it’s interesting because I have been giving him a B-vitamin that has folate (folic acid) for a very long time (since June I think), but Dr. Dodds specifically said she prefers to supplement with folate rich foods so that’s what I’ve been doing since I got that instruction. It seems to be making a difference, at least for Ashki.
love and hugs to you all, have a wonderful weekend.
