- Ashki – new thread
Oh Tamara, thank goodness! I’m so glad he’s holding his own, clever little boy. I’m sure you will sleep a little easier tonight. I just told Mable she got ear and chin rubs from her friend Ashki – she purred :)
Wonderful news. Give him some extra belly rubs from us!

Thank you, Mary and Sheena. I am so relieved, I was worried. I’m still worried of course, this disease just turns us into a ball of worry, but I’m also relieved and happy and grateful to be weaning. Taking the sweet boy for a walk soon, he says thank you so much for the belly rubs.
hugs and kisses to you both — and scritchies and ear rubs for the four-leggeds.
love,
tamara and ashki xoxox
Thanks Vally. More wonderful news from the vet just now — Ashki’s hematocrit was also 34, the highest it’s been since he’s been diagnosed, and his reticulocytes are up (for him) to 36000!! He has technically been non-regenerative almost this whole time, even though his PCV has been climbing, albeit very slowly. He is slightly macrocytic, but that’s to be expected with lots of retics!! I’m just thrilled. We got back in two weeks unless I see a change.
hugs and love to you all –
tamara and ashki xoxoxo
ps I know 36000 is still technically non-regenerative, but his retic count has been bouncing around in the low 20s, so this is a big change.
