- And introduction to Casy
I do thank you Val.
I must admit I have waited for a bit of information on this as my Vet has gone ” mia” I have had very close friends that have read my post and contacted me directly via phone to give me their most welcome input.
I am glad I could bring a smile to your face with my ” shenanigans ” at feeding time.
For now, I will opt for no additional meds. But have made a bit of a revision to the feeding and med schedule. My thoughts are as follows.
Dosing the put with meds have changed to 4 hrs per pill. This means that, every 4 hours i will give one prescribed dose with only allowing the maximum Mgs per day. In conjunction with this, I have found a probiotic to be beneficial. I have opted for homemade yogurt. while this is something that could be considered a detriment to antibiotics… I think this may work. being that I am spacing the doses out, and timing the probiotics vs the antibiotics… I have no solid proof of this theory but, as for now, the sinus infection has eased and she is breathing better ( may have been the beatings with the pool cue but who knows) I will know more in the morning. Steam therapy may have helped as well. For now, she is keeping both the meds and the force fed food down. Poop is starting to become what one would expect.
I need sleep, 5 or so days, I fear I may be becoming a canine Dr. Frankenstein…
Thank you again my new friend.
Good morning world!
Casy is improving. I got her to eat two tiny pieces of chicken and one tiny piece of carrot. She also turned back into my guard dog for a moment. Barked at the neighbor. The staggering of the meds is working well.
She has not vomited and I did some ” floor recon” and found just one little poop, and that is a little more solid.
The bilirubin is still present in her pee but we have gone from a dark almost orange to a strong dark yellow.
Gums and tongue are still a little pale.
Thank You Val,
I think I have this all sorted out. She is starting to eat more. Not much but every little bit makes me happy. For now, it has been roasted chicken, no skin and no seasonings.
Told you, that roasted chicken just contains magic.
Al, she’s sounding heaps better. The colour of her wee becoming less dark is excellent news. Her eating, even a little bit more, not vomiting, doing little poos, that’s all excellent news.
When does she get checked next?
Well done dad.

Thank you. Very kind. I did upload a picture of me an Casy, Let me know if it shows up.
The dog in the picture on my site is Marley. He was a rescue, rehab, and then adopted out. Funny little boy. I almost kept him.
