- Am I being crazy??
Sheena – you are excellent at explaining the complicated! Thank you so much. Yes, that makes sense. We did receive his labs back today on potential bladder infection – he does NOT have one. Which is good. But I will ask the specialist at our appointment on Monday about the higher monocyte and neutrophil numbers and have him clarify what he thinks is going on there, etc. He will have another CBC done on Monday as well. Paws crossed for more good news that day. :)
Hi Trish. As always, you are absolutely amazing with the blood work. Thank goodness!!!
No, Trish – a urine culture is a separate test. Actually, by the time Sadie had hers after being on another antibiotic for two days prior to acute care, the urinalysis AND culture came back negative. But she DID have a UTI. There was no doubt. I guess that’s how fast they respond to antibiotics.
And about the Plavix (good choice by the vet, by the way), Sadie is on .5 mg daily. I get the 1.0 mg and cut it in half.
You are doing an awesome job. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Oh, and yes, welcome to the crazy, paranoid club!!!!
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Trish, I just wanted to add that I often found that there was a slight dip after doing a reduction and then it usually went up the test after. I came to expect it to happen.
The others have explained it really well though, so I can only say Bingo sat in the low normals for what seemed, forever, before inching up ever so slowly.
