- Adding Sam E and milk thistle?
There is an organization called Consumer Lab (consumerlab.com) that examines and tests supplements and provides information about purity and contaminants by brand. Unfortunately their service is not free, I believe they are like Consumer Reports in that they don’t accept advertising and so their work is supported by subscription and donation.

Hi Vally, we cut her aspirin dosage to 1/4 baby aspirin per day ( though my vet didn’t seem too concerned with the 1/2 dosage). Thanks for the info on Pet tinic- I’ve read that product in several posts here. I’ll give it a try.
Thanks!
Hey Jen!
I hope your baby is doing well and hanging in there — I have an unopened bottle of Pet Tinic if you are interested. My pup Steve is an IMHA warrior and I am of course always looking for things to supplement him since thse meds are so hard on them. I had ordered that at the advice of dr dodds and others, but when it got to me I saw that I can’t give it to him. He’s a Dal and they are prone to bladder stones, him included. They can’t have any red meats or organ meats especially and the base of pet Tinic is liver. I would be more than happy to send it to you – I just got it in like July or early August so it’s not old. Let me know! Id hate for it to go to waste.
Xoxo Hope and Steve
I have a 21 LB female, 11 year old corgi with AUHA. What is correct dosage of milk thistle and Sam-E?
Hi Tana,
Milk thistle is always a bit iffy, in that it depends on the quality.
SAMe is dose precise and works brilliantly. If you check the supplements page of the site and look up Denamarin (towards the bottom), you can click on that and it will open the product insert, you’ll see that for small dogs, 90mg tablets , one tablet twice a day. Here’s the link:

Milk thistle is always a bit iffy, in that it depends on the quality. Use a good quality supplement made for humans. If you check out Mary Strauss’ site, again, here is the link on liver disease, she gives dosages.
