43% which is great! My vet is on vacation right now and won’t be back until next Wed. so we are staying the course and she will call me when she gets in on Wed. Her partner called today with the test results and said everything that was tested at the lab looked perfect. So that is where we are right now. Floating along the steroid river and enjoying the lack of turbulence! :)
Oh that is wonderfull news, I keep following your journey as we both have Puppies. Today Elvis has been playing like a puppy. We go soon to get his blood checked. I feel he is doing better. Just still so concerned about everything I am constantly looking at him and following him around. Still going crazy researching as much as I can. Happy to hear your good news

Amy 43% is brilliant. Don’t worry in the least about tiny downs. Depending on how hydrated they are the number will vary. They more hydrated they are the lower the number is. It’s constant drops that are more worrying.
Love the comment “Floating along the steroid river and enjoying the lack of turbulence!” Oh that so so so describes it.

Thanks Vally! The vet said 3% up or down is normal and nothing to worry about. She also spoke about her hydration making a difference so thank you for confirming that. The Steroid River is how I picture this journey. Coal and I sitting in a tiny boat holding on for dear life!!! At first the ride was rocky and uncomfortable but now the river is calm and Coal and I can relax a little and I would like it to stay that way!
Hi Amy
You are cracking me up with these steroid river anecdotes – we will NOT tolerate any boat rocking, no way!
It’s so easy to get worried about a few points with PCV or HCT tests & we have to be calm & unflustered about a small difference like that. So true what Vally says – if you did another test an hour later, it would vary slightly. Call it a small ripple? Small differences are normal.

Hi Amy, that’s great news , may the rivers stay smooth and calm for you and Coal, im so pleased things are looking up for you and love your very apt description! love and hugs Jill & Snoopy xxx
Hi Amy
You’ve been so busy helping everyone else – thank you SO MUCH for supporting others – it meant a lot to me when I first found these great people that someone else had been through this awful thing & that I was no longer on my own with nobody to talk to. It can be a desolate place when you think you are the only one in the world whose dog has this illness.
I just wanted to ask how Coal is doing & when your next test is. Hope she is feeling a lot better. Can’t thank you enough, Amy, for giving a helping hand to everyone – you are navigating them beautifully down that steroid river!
Love & hugs to you & Coal
