Evan’s Syndrome is a combination of IMTP (also ITP) and IMHA. These two conditions together can be life threatening. About 20% of dog’s with IMTP – ITP will also have IMHA. Treatment is the same as for AIHA – IMHA but the survival rate can be lower. However, many dogs with Evan’s Syndrome can achieve remission with prompt recognition and treatment. Treating Evan’s Syndrome is the same as IMTP or AIHA, high dose immunosuppressive drug therapy.
