Cytotoxic means poisonous or toxic to cells. Cytotoxic substances can damage & kill the affected cells. Some drugs used in AIHA treatment are cytotoxic, for example azathioprine, cyclosporine, cyclophosphamide, vincristine. A few other examples of cytotoxic agents are snake venom, acids, poisonous plants.
