I know I have been pretty much absent from the forum for a while, and I apologize. I’ve been busy with Cassie, Willie and work. I have also been putting in a lot of time developing our new website and forum. I have a lot done, but have a lot more to get done. I can tell some of you are drifting away from visiting the forum, the numbers of visitors has quickly diminished over the past week. Please stay with us as we get this new project started.
I want to thank Sheena especially who has put in a significant amount of time helping me get started. She is a very clever and talented person with a fascinating life story. She is like those one in a million people you meet and you know suddenly why the word “Elan” is in the dictionary.
Brigitte has also been of great support, she also leads an extraordinary life, and is a wealth of information about all things “dog.” Her well-groundedness has been very reassuring to me. I always have a deep sense of her extremely compassionate nature.
Linda has asked to be of any possible help she can. We haven’t yet had time to really work together, but she has been very supportive of what we are doing and I know is going to prove to be a great asset to this project.
Vally has been extremely excited to become involved. I have found her to be very passionate about creativity and presentation, she is quite a photographer. I hope that she will share some of this with our group as we move forward.
Sheena noted to me in an email that I am way smarter than her, which of course is NOT true. The truth is that I am as dumb as a stick and as tenacious as a tree. I tend to be a perfectionist about stuff and that can be an asset as well as a deficit. In my job, it is an welcomed asset. Mark thinks of it as a pita. My dogs probably would prefer to get away with hell and not have to be so perfect, but when they are angels, the world is theirs. So I keep at the discipline and obedience every day, not only for them, but for my sake as well.
In the next two months I am going to need every single person of our little gang to contribute in one way or another. None of it will be hard, but without your contribution, I cannot finish this. We need people to come to us or all the work will be for naught. I think that what I have planned will be sort of a dream come true for me. We are going to have a website that will be so exciting and unusual that we will become a legend.
my best, patrice
Quickly looked up the meaning of “elan”. Yes I’ll second that.
Very exciting and all good things take time.
Patrice I know I am and I have no doubt we are all so very very grateful that you have taken on this huge challenge. We all know how important the last site was and what a tragedy that it had to close.
In the meantime, thanks to you, we’ve got a place to come which means so very much.
I say “Onwards and upwards!!!”
Patrice
I am so looking forward to helping people & their dogs again. It is very important to me to help to save dogs lives & support owners during such a distressing time. I just love dogs with a passion, always have. A big thanks to you, Patrice, for all you do and to all the others who are giving their time to get this new forum going. It WILL be worth it. I am honoured to have “met” you all & I know we can continue to beat this disease together.
Best wishes to all my friends on here
Sheena & Worzel
Yes, Vally – elan – hmmm….got it. Funny girl. And you’re right – I third that!
Patrice – So dog gone happy this is site is going to be a go. I too have been absent also, but home for a duration now and will be diligent about checking frequently, along with support. You have worked so hard to get this forum going. Thank you (tear, tear – the happy, appreciative kind…).
Sheena and Brigitte, see you on the computer this weekend…..how awesome is this?!!! Let’s do it.
This forum will do so much to help our precious AIHA pups back to health and advise and support AIHA fur parents on all levels. We’ll go forward and be better than ever. Here’s to the future of “our” Second Chance.
Love and health to all – people and pups, Linda
Even tho I’m a newbie to you all, you are all like old friends to me. I’m so happy to be able to be a part of this fantastic group, instead of only an observer. I don’t know why my posts were never allowed on VetNet, but I can tell you that I followed each and everyone of your stories, and went thru the archives many times for information. This forum was my lifeline when Tempe was first diagnosed 20 months ago. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I am so grateful for it. I love you all.
