- Zucchini are for girls!!!
Well yesterday morning for the very first time since the prednisone kicked in, over 2 years ago, Bingo turned his nose up at his food.
Of course the first thing I did was panic. This was Dr Dodds recipe which he had previously loved. He’d had it the night before and woofed it down, but yesterday morning, he spat it out!!! I gave him a little by hand, which he took and spat out again – on the carpet of course Sheena.
I check his gums and eyes. Good colour. Okay the heart rate and blood pressure go down a little (mine that is).
I go back into the kitchen and he trots after me looking hopeful. I begin to suspect it’s the food itself and he’s not about to collapse before my eyes, so I give him some dog food (which he thinks is a treat) and he gobbles that up pretty fast. I then understood it’s the zucchinis and beans. The first time I made Dr Dodd’s recipe, I did the basic version of just fish, white potato and kumara. This time, to add a few more vegetables, I added zucchini and green beans.
Also, because we are now down to Skip-a-day (week 3 and holding may I point out), perhaps he is not as totally desperate barking mad tearing his hair out for food.
Anyway, Bingo says the girls here can have his zucchiiiiiinnniiiii and beeeeeeeans. Give the man meat!
Love Vally & the man!
Well how about that, Mr. Skip-A-Day?!! Guess you told your fur-mom! None of this healthy foo-foo food for you, by golly! You manly, man you.
Way too cute. Thanks Bingo, for a big smile. And you keep it up Bingo – we moms can be a bit overwhelming at times.
Love to you and your Julia Childs’ mom,
Linda and Sadie
OOOOOhhhhhh Vally!
Bingo’s getting fussy now, eh? I think you’re right. His ravenous appetite could be shrinking a little. Or he might hate zucchini like his Aunty Sheena (unless it’s crispy). If he’s acting fine, looking fine & eating everything else, well that’s ALL fine. I’ll send you a bottle of the carpet cleaner I use. Bingo – stop worrying your Mum at once!
Love Sheena, footloose & fancy free Worzel, Chubby Ollie & Phil “Phingers”

Oh Bingo! Send your Zucchini to us – we LOVE them! Ok, it’s only me really. My seedlings have just germinated for another year of lovely fresh Zucchini :D Molly was extremely keen on them. Not to eat of course. A dropped cube of Zucchini made a wonderful toy to bat around the house like a mad thing.
So very pleased that Skip-a-day is going well. Keep it up Bingo!
