- Bingo has his wings
Bingo, had had had a cough for about a month and it was being treated as a heart, and then also respiratory condition, but he wasn’t improving. He was due to have an x-ray today, Friday, but on Wednesday morning he was very weak and for the first time, had a fever.
I raced him to the specialist hospital where he went into the ICU and they continued to treat it as a heart condition (with fluid in his lungs and abdomen now). His specialist, who treated his AIHA, was there yesterday and after going over everything, felt this wasn’t his heart as he should have responded to the medication. He did x-rays and an ultrasound of his heart and chest which showed the heart to be fairly normal, however, it showed one of his lungs was odd and his specialist felt this was most likely a tumour in an obscure spot.
His specialist said they could try and search to see exactly what this was, but he said that he felt Bingo would not survive the testing and he was having difficulty breathing. His specialist, who knew Bingo so very well, said that if he were his dog, he would let him go.
So we did the kindest thing and, in my arms, we let him go.
I will so very much miss my silly, funny, stubborn, super-sensitive mate.

My heart sank, I am beyond so very sorry for your loss of Bingo. An amazing dog and best friend to you , and you and Amazing dog mom for him. I lost my last dog to Cancer and I too said goodbye to her in my arms at the vets when no more could be done. The heartbreak is horrible I know first hand. I’m so glad Bingo was so blessed to have you for his dog mom !
Thank You so very much for all the help and hope you and Bingo have given us all. Your love for him overflowed to us and your selflessness and sacrafice as well.
I know the days ahead will be hard and in the good memories there will be tears. You will be in my prayers.
Take time to heal and then gift yourself with an amazing 4 legged furry friend with a great big loving heart .. it’s what I did and now have my Sweet Flossie and my heart has gotten to love and be loved again ..
Sending a big hug to you dear Vally !

Aw Vally, we are so so so sorry for your loss. Time flies exceedingly fast with our fur babies, and there can never be enough. Though we have only known you a short time on this forum, it sounds like you and a Bingo shared an amazing life together. May he enjoy doggie heaven just as much as he enjoyed his life with you.
