Donna, I’ve just moved your entry over here, so we don’t get confused.
Please pray for our dog Jacques (JoJo). He was diagnosed with IMHA ALMOST TEN DAYS AGO. This is his third hospital, first our vet then emergency vet hen ICU at the Specialist. Our main dr we love who was really attacking it has gone on a week vacation. Now we have a new dr as of this weekend and she doesn’t know our dog bad keep getting bad news and seems I be diagnosing G based on visa me signs when we see the exact opposite. Tonight they called and said we may have to think of putting him down???? We just saw him and thought he was doing great. Vitals good. RBC still not great but we believe they are wanting to give up a minute before the miracle. He has already fought through ten days. We had a discussion just now and thank God she is going to keep fighting. We told her we know our dog and feel like he is making the turn. Every easy a fe steps forward and maybe one or two back. Please keep Jacques (JoJo) in your prayers big they ask us to put him down we want to get him to another vet. We absolutely love this place and not trying to be critical. Hey are very experienced. We just need the new dr to fight for Jacques like the original dr was or a rximmendation in the Dallas Ft Worth area to take him to. Thank you for your prayers.
Donna, I’m so glad you’re fighting for JoJo. He is certainly in my prayers.
Can you tell us as much as you can about what’s happened? What is JoJo’s red blood count now? Do you know what triggered the AIHA? Sometimes it’s a vaccination, or a tick or a bee sting. Sometimes we never know. It doesn’t really matter, but it can help to understand.
Do you have a copy of JoJo’s blood test results? If not, ask for a copy and you can send them through on the Urgent Advice at the top or here:

Someone can check them for you and help you to understand what’s happening. Was JoJo home with you in between hospital visits or stays? What medication is he on (dosage) and what does he weigh.
With you in JoJo’s corner, he’s got the best there is.
My very best,
Vally & Bingo (diagnosed Nov 2011, in remission)
Hi Donna & JoJo
Of course we will be thinking of you through this – it’s very early days & certainly not time to give up. The treatment can take while to work & we have all had to be patient until the drugs start to do their job. In the meantime, small transfusions might be need, which is NOT a big deal.
If you could send us the information Vally asked for – anything & everything – we will be able to help you more.
I’m so sorry I can’t help on recommending a vet as I live in France. Maybe one of our lovely ladies from your area may be able to help. You could find a Specialist in Internal Medicine who has plenty of experience & success with treating IMHA/AIHA. We are very lucky to be able to put you onto a specialist called Dr Jean Dodds who you can consult with via the internet. She is wonderful & in my opinion, the best help you could ever get for JoJo. Most of us consult with her often – I still do even though my dog Worzel is in remission as they need special care once they have had this disease. Here is how you can contact her at Hemopet via our website:

You can just click on the consultation page.
Please let us know how things are going – crossing everything for JoJo
Very best wishes
Sheena, Worzel (diagnosed Dec 2012 in remission) & Ollie too
I don’t have more to offer than prayer and positive thought for you and your sweet Jojo. I will continue to lift you both in prayers for healing.
Please keep us all informed on how he is doing.
