Stopping Pepcid & other supplements

Sorry, I accidently posted my question in sheena’s post instead of starting new one…oops
I’m curious, how long should I continue to give the Pepcid ac, milk thistle, Sam e to Maggie? She takes 100mg of cyclo every other day ( she always took cyclo though for allergies) & 2.5 mg pred every other day.
Is it safe to stop giving Pepcid and/or the supplements?

Jen,
I don’t see any reason to stop the supplements or the pepcid.The milk thistle and the SamE help her liver and the pepcid her tummy from acid reflux. As long as she is on the prednisone and cyclosporin I would give it.

Hi Jen
I agree with Brigitte – I kept them going until Worzel was completely off the pred, & until he was on low dose azathioprine. Better safe than sorry – you know what a cautious person I am! Glad Maggie’s doing well too.

Thanks Brigitte & Sheena! I will keep her on them then. I wasn’t sure if there were any adverse effects from long term use.
